Adam Rankin, Senior Account Executive

Adam Rankin joined Spitfire after completing a prestigious nine-month public policy fellowship with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI), working at the Department of Commerce in the International Trade Administration. He brings extensive experience developing and managing projects in the private, nonprofit and federal sectors to the diverse range of clients he works with at Spitfire Strategies.

At Spitfire, Adam works on the planning and implementation of a variety of training events and programs. He coordinates all logistical aspects of executive nonprofit training programs, including developing and managing program budgets, data analysis, communicating with clients, negotiating contracts with vendors, outreach and correspondence to participants and presenters, creation of training materials and on-site handling of all event logistics. Adam has been involved with several successful trainings sponsored by foundations all over the country, such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation. He also works to manage logistics for Spitfire's signature Executive Training Program for nonprofit leaders.

Adam has also worked for Strategic Metrics, Incorporated (SMI) as a team leader and special projects manager with clients such as AT&T, Bell South, Bank of America and Compass Bank. He also previously interned in the office of South Carolina Congressman Henry Brown, where he researched pending legislation and public policy issues, monitored congressional hearings with legislative aides and communicated with constituents via telephone calls, letters and Capitol tours.

Politics and policy are of great interest to Adam, having also been selected as the Nonprofit Enrichment Team Hispanic Fellow at The University of Alabama. In this role, he was charged with helping the Cahaba Valley Healthcare System identify the needs of their Hispanic clientele through development of a survey tool that he administered in conjunction with interviews of members of Alabama’s uninsured Hispanic community.

Adam received a B.A. from The University of Alabama, where he studied business management and Spanish. Adam is bilingual and is fluent in Spanish. He enjoys giving back to the community and volunteering with animal-rescue groups.
