Emily Lowe, Account Executive
At Spitfire Emily Lowe provides research and writing support to clients in a range of issue areas, from restoring the environmental quality of the Gulf region to supporting the growth of community radio and promoting sustainable fishing practices.
Prior to joining Spitfire, Emily worked at The SEED Foundation, an organization that opens and operates inner-city, public, boarding schools in underserved communities. During her time there, she provided support to senior staff and assisted with event planning, donor outreach, and social media efforts. She also crafted speeches for the organization’s founders, acted as liaison to the board of directors, and supervised students from The SEED Schools during their internships with the Foundation.
Previously, Emily worked at Slate providing research support to reporters, helping to launch new projects, and writing articles. She held internships with Democracy Alliance, a philanthropic partnership organization, and with Downey McGrath Group, a government affairs firm.
Emily graduated from American University with bachelor’s degrees in political science and Spanish. She spent a semester living in South America, where she was able to visit Machu Picchu in Peru, tango in Argentina, and teach English to young women at a school in rural Chile.
