Allyson McMahan Boucher, Senior Account Manager
Allyson McMahan Boucher brings seven years of nonprofit marketing and communications experience to support strategic development for Spitfire’s clients with the goal to implement change among their target audiences. She supports clients focused on issues such as public policy, health care reform and environmental stewardship in their message development and communications planning.
Prior to joining Spitfire, Allyson supported marketing and communications strategy work with National 4-H Council, one of the nation’s largest youth development organizations. She assisted the organization’s 3,000 local county 4-H offices in their communications efforts through spokesperson trainings on how to effectively deliver key messages, provided event planning support with an eye to increase 4 H’s brand recognition in their respective communities, and highlighted best practices for other 4-H professionals to emulate successful results across the nation.
Allyson led the introduction of 4-H’s National Youth Science Day, now in its third year, and implemented a variety of national website initiatives. She also supported targeted science and tech-based media outreach for 4-H’s efforts with successful coverage in Mechanical Engineering, The Associated Press and numerous statewide newspapers, as well as leading the development and dissemination of a national print, broadcast and radio PSA campaign.
Allyson obtained her MBA from the University of Maryland’s Robert H. Smith School of Business with a focus in marketing and strategic management. While in the program, Allyson traveled to India to learn firsthand how emerging nations are building new and effective business practices and how multinational corporations are partnering with foundations to enhance communities.
Allyson has a B.A. in marketing and government from The College of William & Mary. Following her undergraduate work, Allyson spent a year with AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps where she traveled along the west coast with a team to support community service work ranging from Habitat for Humanity, trail and camp restoration, and teaching at local schools.
