Prior to joining Spitfire, Lisa was a senior consultant at BearingPoint, where she worked in the public service sector’s change management group. In this role, Lisa developed and led large-scale strategic communications efforts at a variety of federal government agencies, including the National Institutes of Health, the Patent and Trademark Office and the National Archives.
Before working at BearingPoint, Lisa served as the communications coordinator for the International City Management Association’s (ICMA) International Division. During her time at ICMA, she transformed the content and design of the division’s website, quadrupled the average monthly media coverage of ICMA International’s development activities, and conducted training sessions that taught employees about media pitching and donor, partner and congressional outreach.
During graduate school, Lisa served as the Assistant Director for American University’s Public Affairs and Advocacy Institute, coordinating various intensive workshops that helped students to develop their public affairs skills in fields such as communications, grassroots advocacy, and congressional outreach and media campaigns.
Lisa also worked as an intern at both M+R Strategic Services and the Dewey Square Group, where she assisted in the execution of public affairs strategies for a number of high profile nonprofit and commercial clients.
Lisa holds a master’s degree in public administration and a B.A. in political science and public communication from American University. She lives in Washington, DC, with her husband Rory and her (quite adorable) dog Reilly.
